Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 494 - Alcoholic Beverages - Direct Wine Seller's Permit.

This bill establishes a State direct wine seller's permit to be issued by the Office of the Comptroller with an annual fee of $10.

House Bill 811, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 494.
