Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 698 - Dorchester County - Alcoholic Beverages - Class B Licenses.

This bill reduces the minimum seating capacity requirement from 100 to 75 seats (at tables) for restaurants, motels and hotels in Dorchester County with a Class B beer, wine and liquor license.

House Bill 1397, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 698.
