Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 201 - State Employees - Military Administrative Leave - Sunset Extension.

This bill extends the termination date for the use of military administrative leave or specified paid leave for specified State employees who are on active military duty on a specified date or are activated for military duty on or after a specified date.

Senate Bill 394, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on April 27, 2004, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 201.
