Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 264 - Prince George's County - North Brentwood Town Hall and Museum Project Loan of 1996.

This bill amends Chapter 93 of the Acts of 1996, to require that the loan proceeds be encumbered by the Board of Public Works or expended for the purposes provided in the Act by June 1, 2006.

House Bill 184, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on April 13, 2004, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 264.
