Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 392 - Young Farmers Advisory Board.

This bill establishes the Young Farmers Advisory Board; specifies the membership, terms of membership, and duties of the Advisory Board; requires the Governor to appoint specified members; provides for the election of a chairperson, vice chairperson, and secretary of the Advisory Board; establishes meeting requirements for the Advisory Board; and requires the Department of Agriculture to provide staffing.

House Bill 755, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 26, 2004, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 392.
