Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed House Bill 334 - Circuit Court Clerks - Salary.

This bill alters the maximum salary that the Board of Public Works may set for a circuit court clerk to $98,500 and provides that the Act does not apply to the salary or compensation of an incumbent clerk. Senate Bill 598, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 334.
