Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed House Bill 898 - Maryland Consolidated Capital Bond Loan of 2003 - Baltimore Zoo.

This bill extends the date by which the Maryland Zoological Society must provide evidence that a matching fund will be provided for a specified grant provided in the Maryland Consolidated Capital Bond Loan of 2003. Senate Bill 811, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 898.
