State Retirement and Pension System - Military Service Credit - Clarification
and Simplification
Altering the definition of "military service" as it relates to service
credit for members of State or local retirement or pension systems to
include active and inactive duty for training that interrupts a
member's employment with the State or a political subdivision of the
State; providing death and disability benefits to individuals who are
members of a State or local retirement or pension system who die or
become disabled on or after January 1, 2007, while performing military
service that interrupts their employment; etc.
