Justice's Law
Expanding the list of persons who can be convicted of first-degree
child abuse under specified circumstances to include a family member
or household member who has permanent or temporary care or the
responsibility for the supervision of a minor; increasing the maximum
penalty for first-degree child abuse resulting in death of the victim
to imprisonment not exceeding 40 years; and increasing the maximum
penalty for a subsequent conviction of child abuse resulting in death
of the victim to imprisonment not exceeding 40 years.
