Synopsis
Establishing the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in the Maryland Department of Health to advance forensic science and carry out other duties as provided by law; renaming the State Postmortem Examiners Commission to be the Postmortem Examiners Advisory Committee; requiring and authorizing the Department and the Office to perform certain duties and powers previously performed by the Commission; authorizing the Department to contract with a physician for employment with the Office on a per diem basis; etc.
