Public Records - Copying and Access

Synopsis:

Requiring that a copy of a public record be provided in the form or format requested by an applicant under specified circumstances; requiring the State, a political subdivision, or a unit of the State or a political subdivision to make a reasonable effort to maintain its public records in formats that are readily reproducible and likely to be requested, and to search for records in electronic format; authorizing the custodian of records to include specified costs in fees charged for copies; and requiring a specified study and report.
